Winding roads and stunning views
THE LOT-ET-GARONNE
Caday Rouge is between the hamlets of Saint-Vite and Saint-Georges, set amongst fruit farms in semi-rural France on the bank of the River Lot.
We are closely surrounded by villages, towns and bastides such as Agen, Marmande, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Duras, Nerac and Monpazier.
The South-West has an abundance of fantastic roads: twisting and winding and turning into stunning views and amazing scenery and countryside. Even to us having been here for many years, the beauty, the views and the wildlife never ceases to make us catch our breath in admiration and wonder.
Historical towns and villages in this region, Cahors, Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour and Monflanquin to name a few are fantastic to visit and stop for coffee or lunch. Châteaux de Bonaguil, de Biron, de Gavaudun and de Beynac to name just a few are also within easy riding distance and have not only some great history and architecture about them, but also some popular café/restaurant’s which serve as great pit-stops during a tour.

SOUTH WEST OF FRANCE
We are situated in the Lot-et-Garonne department of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, in the South-West of France. The Lot-et-Garonne is surrounded by the departments of Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Landes, Gironde and Dordogne.
We are a 5 minute drive to the village of Monsempron Libos and the town of Fumel is just another 5 minutes away which is home to the historic Château d’Fumel which was built to help defend the Lot Valley during the Hundred Years War. Although not much remains of the original building, the terraced château gardens have been carefully restored and offer fine views across the Lot Valley.
This part of France has generally mild winters and warm-hot summers, with substantially less rainfall than the northern part of the country. Lightning storms can be common in the summer and are both fascinating and mesmerising to watch.
